hi, I’m Shane.
My journey through personal transformation informs every aspect of my work. Having navigated my own path through anxiety, depression, addiction, and relationship challenges, I understand both the courage it takes to seek support and the profound possibilities for growth that lie within our struggles. Through my own healing journey, I've discovered that our deepest wounds, once understood and integrated, can become our greatest sources of wisdom and strength.
Today, I work with clients using an integrated approach that draws from attachment theory, Internal Family Systems, depth psychology, and mindfulness and somatic practices. Each person's journey is unique, and I adapt my approach accordingly - sometimes offering practical tools and insights, other times creating space for deeper emotional exploration and healing. Whether you're seeking to understand relationship patterns, navigate life transitions, or develop a more authentic connection with yourself and others, I bring presence, understanding, and experienced guidance to our work together.
Professional Training & Life Experience
My approach is grounded in both formal education and rich life experience. My professional training includes:
- Life Coach Training from The Institute for Life Coach Training
- Compassionate Inquiry training with Dr. Gabor Maté
- Interpersonal Neurobiology studies with Dr. Dan Siegel (Includes Certificate in Attachment Theory)
- Advanced training in Integral Unfoldment with Aletheia
Beyond formal training, my perspective has been shaped by a lifetime of diverse experiences - from living close to the land through farming and homesteading, to undertaking profound personal challenges like extended wilderness journeys, sky-diving, and overcoming addiction. This combination of structured learning and lived experience allows me to bring both professional expertise and deep personal understanding to our work together.

Understanding My Role
While my work incorporates elements from various therapeutic approaches, I serve as a personal development practitioner rather than a licensed therapist. The key distinction is that I do not diagnose or treat mental illness. Instead, I focus on supporting your personal growth journey through:
- Developing deeper self-understanding
- Exploring and transforming relationship patterns
- Building practical tools for navigating life's challenges
- Creating meaningful change without pathologizing your experiences
- Working with both your strengths and struggles as natural parts of being human
